JOSHUA LOWE Artistic Director
Joshua is a Tasmanian born dancer, choreographer and administrator. In 2007 Joshua formed DRILL Performance Company in Launceston, taking on the role of Artistic Director and Administrative Manager.
Joshua’s choreographic credits include Fy (DRILL/2010), Following Lucifer (VCA/2008), ROADWORKS (DRILL/2008), MASQUE (DRILL/2007), Tamar Tidings (SVPA – University of Tasmania/2007), Eurobeat (The Launceston Players/2007), BladeRunner Hair Show (Launceston Fashion Week/2007), Stepping In Shadow (PTB Entertainment/2006) and Protéger (PTB Entertainment/2006). He has also worked as production manager for ROADWORKS, MASQUE, Launceston Fashion Week (2007), Stepping In Shadow and Protéger. Joshua’s work has been supported by many funding bodies and businesses including Arts Tasmania and Tasmanian Regional Arts.
In 2008 Joshua commenced a Bachelor of Dance at the Victorian College of the Arts, studying under Australia’s most renowned choreographers and teachers, performing in Traverse (VCA/Neil Adams/2008) and Swarming Auras (VCA/Stephanie Lake/2009).
In 2010 Joshua produced a new work with DRILL, Fy, as a collaboration with other young and emerging artists and designers. He undertook an artistic residency at Brooks High School as a part of the Artists in Residence program funded by Arts Tasmania, which also saw him mentored by Becky Hilton and Emma Porteus.
