BE A PART OF DRILL'S 2019 MAJOR SEASON
DRILL's next major dance work with young people, NEON, is here and we're looking for dancers aged 14 to 30 to join the cast.
DRILL creates new, site-specific contemporary dance works with local young movers, including Radical Kid (2015), Trash This Place (2016) and Cold Omens (2017), all winners of the Tasmanian Theatre Award for Best Production.
NEON is three 20-minute pieces, choreographed by Joshua Lowe, Angela Barnard and Jaala Jensen, each one in response to one of the chemical elements from the Periodic Table. All dancers in the company will be performing in all three works, which are performed simultaneously and looped three times, with the audience roaming the venue and deciding on which work to watch, and in what order. The musical score for NEON has been created by the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.
The cast of NEON have worked throughout 2018 on a creative development, and will come back together in 2019 to finish creating and then perform the work. We have a limited number of open places in the company for new dancers, and encourage those who are passionate about contemporary dance and performance to register!
Interested participants must register below before attending the call out. If you have any questions at all, please contact Josh on 0408 660 748 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
