DRILL offers flexible contemporary dance workshops for all students from Years 1 to 12, providing experienced and engaging staff to get your students moving in a fun and creative way.
Primary School Workshops teach students about safe dance practice and warming up, stretching, anatomy, and how to develop movement from a theme or idea. Workshops also include fun choreography for your students to learn and perform.
Secondary School Workshops can be tailored to your curriculum needs, and usually introduce students to contemporary technique and choreography, as well as providing tasks that enable them to generate their own movement. Workshops can also be taught in improvisation technique, and duo work.
If you have a larger project in mind, we also have choreographers available to work with your students on developing choreography for longer pieces or performances, as well as deeper engagement through residencies. Don't forget each year in Term 2 we offer Dance Nexus, a five-week program for schools.
Our standard workshop fee is $60 per hour, with a negotiated travel fee for schools outside the Greater Hobart area. For longer projects, we are happy to negotiate the fee.
To get your students moving, contact DRILL Artistic Director Joshua Lowe on 0408 660 748 or firstname.lastname@example.org to book in your workshop!
