Our Junior Company of young people aged 9-12 have been working hard on a bright new work that tackles the intricacies of the human experience in a design collaboration with Tasmanian/French artist, Edith Perrenot.

Edith has been guiding our young artists through drafting, artistic geometry, paper folding, painting and curating to imagine a world that is colourful, explosive, curious and reflective of their voices right now. Their art has become their playground and their lens through to this creative landscape is realised through dance.

What are our assumptions about messy bedrooms? Messy people? This 45 minute work explores the societal pressures of being organised as humans alongside the permutations and complexities of growing up. We explore diversity in learning and the kaleidoscopic choices and decision making that young people face.

Through shared ideas, we've created something fragmented, yet beautiful that celebrates the wild and messy parts of ourselves.

KALEIDOSCOPE is supported through Moonah Arts Centre and Arts Tasmania.
