NOVEMBER 20 - 22
CENTRAL GALLERY of the TASMANIAN MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY

By George and All Of Us was a performance created by Isabella Stone, greatly assisted by senior company member George Vaughn, in collaboration with the performers. This work was presented as part of the Burning Desire’s Festival 2020 in partnership with the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.

The root of this creation was an autobiographical meander through the eccentricities of senior company member George Vaughn. George began dancing with DRILL in 2017. He is a generous and fascinating character, knows everything about birds, loves both Mozart and Metallica, and does THE most convincing C3P0 impression. George’s uninhibited self-expression was the inspiration to create a work that celebrated this cohort of company members’ individuality.

It was an eclectic ride through a shifting soundscape of bird song and heavy metal - sometimes loud and sometimes arriving in far-away galaxies. Audiences encountered personal solos from each company member and a collective energy that displayed this group’s ability and generosity in embodying George’s imagined scenarios and specific interests.
